Consolidating files nuendo

I'd like to put a short section on a website on how to time-align multitrack files, with simple instructions for each DAW.I've tried to do this for PTLE before, but I got the impression that their are different methods for different versions of PT.

When you start nudging files around there really needs to be a way to update the file timestamp. I was wondering why sometimes my files didn't go to the correct location when importing to Cubase or Samp. Many thanks :) I'm on Cubase 5.5 and nuendo 4.x I can't remember how things worked in previous versions I'm afraid!

Laurence, if you glue does the new file have the correct timestamp?

The problem with destructive editing is that any other projects that use the edited media files would be altered, causing them potentially to cease operating as they should.

glueing just creates a new file with a numerical extension. I thought that changed the origin time in the actual file but it doesn't.

I'll have to double-check that with a Cubase file but I think it does do that. Update: I could have sworn that older versions of Cubase allowed actually changing that timestamp but it doesn't now.

It only changes the "origin" reference for use in Cubase with those regions. The problem with destructive editing is that any other projects that use the edited media files would be altered, causing them potentially to cease operating as they should.Sometimes this is just tracking as a favour for bands and I give the files to the bands to mix down. These guys use all manner of DAW programs, but generally don't understand how to line the tracks up and I get "the tracks are all out of time" responses.Hello people, this post is a request for a little help from the community.I know we have a lot of people who used/use other DAWs here, and I'd like to ask a small favour from a broad cross-section of you guys.MCIf REAPER updated the timestamp in your BWF wav file, it would be altering the source file and would thus not be non-destructively editing.
